Dutch Oven Wannigans

The Safest Way To Transport A Cast Iron Dutch Oven. Keeps The Lid And Oven Safe

We’ve been carrying cast iron dutch ovens on our canoe trips for over a decade. They are heavy and bulky, but so versatile around the campfire that the extra labor in lugging them is worth it. When we started traveling with them, we wanted a way to do so that would keep the oven safe by protecting the oven and the lid during transport. Using a wooden wannigan as a model, we designed a small wooden box with an insert that keeps the lid away from the oven. You can get them from Pole And Paddle Canoe. Link
